Approve what the AI changes
Learn when Plasmole AI stops to ask, how to answer its card, and what never needs approval.
Before most changes to your records, Plasmole AI shows a card in the chat. Nothing is written until you approve.
Answer an approval card
- Read the question and the preview. The preview shows exactly what approving writes.
- Click the first button to go ahead. It names the action, such as Save primers or Approve.
- Click the second button to stop, such as Don't save, Don't approve or Keep it.
- Some cards also have Change…. Click it to say what should change.
With focus on the card, Enter presses the first button and Esc presses the second.
What always asks
- Plasmid changes: creating, importing, renaming, editing features, changing the sequence, deleting, restoring a version, saving a checkpoint or optimizing codons.
- Notebook and lab records: entries, tasks, protocols, moving records to a project, restoring from Trash, recording outcomes and drafting methods.
- Saving PubMed papers to the project library.
- Inviting a lab member or changing a role.
- Building a whole workflow at once.
What sometimes asks
These usually run without a card:
- Workflow edits, such as adding, changing or linking nodes.
- Primer saves onto a plasmid.
- Experiment plans.
They ask first when you did not choose the target record. You choose a record by opening it, @-mentioning it or picking it from a list. Workflow edits also ask after the assistant reads a published paper in the same turn. That card says "This follows a paper the assistant read in this turn."
What never asks
- The chat's title.
- What the assistant learns from its answers.
- Your own "remember ..." messages.
- Reading open-access papers.
When AI is off for a workspace
Plasmole turns AI processing off for a workspace on request. Email [email protected]. Lab admins cannot change this setting.
When it is off, the message box says AI processing is off for this workspace. The assistant, remote BLAST and AI connectors cannot use that workspace. Lookups by accession or identifier still work and send only the term you search for.
