Find and organize records in the Library

Browse, filter and move your records, group them in projects and folders, and restore deleted items.

The Library holds everything in your current workspace. Projects sit at the top level, and each project can hold folders.

Find a record

  1. Click Library on the left rail.
  2. Type in Search projects, notebooks, plasmids, files… to search the whole workspace.
  3. Use the type filter to narrow the list: All, Designs, Notebooks, Files or Traces. Designs shows plasmids and primers.
  4. Type in Filter projects… to narrow the projects shown.
  5. Switch between Grid and List with the buttons beside the filter.

Create projects, folders and records

  1. Click New in the top bar.
  2. Pick New entry, New plasmid, New workflow, New spreadsheet or New project.
  3. Inside a project, pick New folder to add a folder there.

In a lab, everyone in the lab can open a new project. Projects in Personal are visible only to you.

Act on one item

Right-click an item, or click its more-actions button. The menu depends on the type:

  • Plasmids: Open, Add to AI context, Rename, Duplicate, Move to project…, Share…, Export…, Delete.
  • Entries: Open, Add to AI context, Rename, Download PDF, Move to project…, Delete.
  • Projects and folders: Open, Rename, Delete.

Act on many items

  1. Tick the checkbox on each item you want.
  2. Use the bar that appears: Move to project, Export as ZIP, Auto-annotate, Align against reference, Share or Delete.
  3. Click Clear to drop the selection.

Export, annotate, align and share apply only to plasmids. Export as ZIP offers GenBank, FASTA, SBOL and ApE.

Restore or erase from Trash

  1. Open Trash from the places under your projects.
  2. Click Restore to put an item back.
  3. To erase one item, click Delete, then Delete forever. This cannot be undone.
  4. To erase everything, click Empty Trash and type DELETE.
