See and undo what the AI changed

Find AI edits in a plasmid's or entry's history, check AI-drafted text, and roll changes back.

Plasmole marks what Plasmole AI does, so you can tell it apart from your own work. Before the AI edits a plasmid, Plasmole saves a version you can go back to.

Find AI edits on a plasmid

  1. Open the plasmid and open the Provenance pane.
  2. Read each version's label. AI edits name Plasmole AI, such as "Saved automatically before Plasmole AI made an edit".

That version holds the plasmid as it was just before the AI changed it, not the result. A construct you saved from Claude or ChatGPT reads "Added from an AI connector" and is credited to you.

Undo an AI edit on a plasmid

  1. In Provenance, click the version saved before the AI edit.
  2. Click Diff to see what changed, or Inspect to view that version.
  3. Click Restore. In the panel that opens, click Restore again and confirm.

Restoring makes a new version from that snapshot.

Check an AI-drafted entry

An entry the AI drafted shows a banner: "Drafted by Plasmole AI. Check it before you rely on it."

  1. Read the entry through.
  2. Click Mark as checked. The banner goes away.

Check properties the AI filled in

The AI can fill in an entry's Organism or Method. Those chips show "Filled in by Plasmole AI".

  1. Click the chip.
  2. Pick the value to confirm it, or pick a different one.

Undo an AI edit on an entry

  1. Click the clock icon in the entry header, then See all versions.
  2. Find the version labelled Before edits from just before the change.
  3. Click Restore, then Confirm restore.
